Planning
Schönbrunn in one day
A route that covers the palace, the gardens and the Gloriette without rushing.
Check dates and availability ↗Start at 8.30
Take the first slot of the day. The Grand Tour at 8.30 puts you back outside before ten with the grounds still thin.
Gardens next
Walk the parterre to the Neptune fountain while the light is still low and before the coach groups arrive at the main gate.
Up to the Gloriette
Twenty minutes up, as long as you want at the top. There is a café in the colonnade if you want the view sitting down.
Decide about the zoo
If you still have four hours, the zoo is worth it. If you have two, take the Palm House or the Privy Garden instead and leave Schönbrunn unhurried.
